Letchworth, UK: Garden City Press, 1913. Hardcover. Very Good. 8vo - over 7¾ - 9¾" tall. xvi, 312pp. Blue cloth-covered boards with gilt titles to front and spine. 8vo. Spine ends and corners lightly rubbed and rounded, cloth wearing. Small water stain to rear top corner. Text block edges dusty and foxed. Previous owner's name on front pastedown. Free endpapers tanned, prelim pages foxed. Internally there is moderate tanning/ foxing to page margins. Otherwise this is a neat, bright, tight volume. The author writes, 'so far as I am aware this is the first attempt at a complete outline of the Christian evolution in the light of modern knowledge, and perhaps the chapters dealing with the rise of monotheism may be found to bridge a real gap'.
