Paris: P. Bertrand. Fair with no dust jacket. 1856. First Edition Thus. Hardcover. p. 25-87, [9] leaves of plates. Memoire accompagne de neuf planches lithographiees. Extrait de la Zoologie de l'Expedition dans les parties centrales de l'Amerique du Sud, pubnliee sous la direction de M. le comte Francis de Castelnau. Original green hard paper boards are worn and aged, spine perished, corners of boards rubbed and chipped, small lack at bottom front joint. Interior first page has old institution impressed stamp, paper thinned and partly missing at top and bottom gutter margin, otherwise clean and unmarked. Pages 72-87 heavily browned, fore-edges somewhat chipped. Plates have some foxing but otherwise clean (starts with Plate 7 as called for), plate 15 has another institutional embossure. Needs to be resewn. Aged but complete, very scarce.; Folio - over 12" - 15" tall .
