Issue points include, no page entry for the frontispiece and vignette, and no quotation marks around "the Party", on page XV, line 2. On 284pp, the fifth and sixth lines from the bottom, "Delight" instead of "Joy". Page 26, line 11 has the word "fidgetty". Page 40, lines 16 and 17 the words "shewed" and "shew" are used instead of "showed" and "show". On page 324 Captain is misspelt as "Capatin". With a hook for Cuttle's left hand. Issue poitns taken from Hatton & Cleaver pp.225-250.�Illustrated with a frontispiece, vignette title page, and thirty-eight plates.Bound without the half-title and additional errata slip.�"Dombey and Son" is about Paul Dombey, the owner of a shipping company, who intends to pass down ownership of his company to his son, ignoring his daughter, Florence. The novel tells the story of their family, and their hopes and fears Dickens is one of the most popular authors of the Victorian age. His novels show the grimy side of poverty and prosperity in Victorian England, showing poor social conditions alongside repulsive characters. Illustrated by Hablot Knight Browne, most often known by his pen-name 'Phiz'. As Phiz, he illustrated many of Dickens' novels, including 'David Copperfield', 'Dombey and Son', and 'Bleak House', as well as illustrating for 'Punch' throughout his life. Externally, excellent with minor shelfwear to the extremities. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright. Heavily spotted to the title page and frontispiece.
