About This Item

London / New York: B.T. Batsford / Charles Scribner's Sons, 1911. Hardcover. Good+ (boards have overall heavy wear, pages of text and plates are age toned as expected but otherwise very clean and clear.). Three oversized volumes in brown paper clamshell cases with black lettering and illustrations, red cloth spines. Part I has 62 pp of text, a list of the plates in this part, followed by 60 plates. Part II has text pages 63-108 followed by a list of the plates and 65 plates. Part III consists of a 7 pp list of the subscribers, index to the descriptive text and illustrations, text pages 109-246 followed by a list of the plates and the 67 plates. A 3 volume set, illustrated in a series of photographs & measured drawings of country mansions, manor houses and smaller buildings, with historical and descriptive text. All 192 plates are present.
