Original engraving (19x14cm including frame), handcoloured, of a view of the village of Ridderkerk (Riederkerk) as published in L. van Ollefen and R. Bakker, De Nederlandsche stad- en dorp-beschrijver; 1796, with 4 lines text in Dutch. In frame behind glass (glass damaged on the edges of the right hand side) on reverse handwritten: "In Ridderkerk zijn Martha (1938) en Paul Op de Coul (1940) geboren". Some ancient waterstaining to bottom of engraving, attractive framed original engraving. Paul op de Coul was a director and professor of Music history, born in Ridderkerk.
