Benziger Brothers, 1944. FAIR CONDITION. The bible has been wet, and as a result, all the pages are lumpy and stiff. The moisture caused some bleeding of the gilt edges onto the margins, mostly on the pages toward the end of the bible and on the map pages. Six blank pages near the back have a large water stain across the bottom corner (affects both sides of the pages). There are some corner creases, three pages are creased along the edge, and at least two pages have a larger crease across the bottom corner. No writing or underlining. The gilt edges are heavily scratched with loss of color due to the moisture contact. The cover is cracked on both side of the spine (pictures available upon request), and there is a scuffed area on the front near the bottom corner. The binding is straight and strong. The ribbon bookmark is frayed. The bible is quite readable but it should be regarded as Reading Copy Only in Acceptable or Fair Condition. 4-1/4" 8-1/4" 1-3/4" bible with a black cover (probably bonded leather). Typeface is small (approximately 7 pt).. Hardcover. Fair/No Jacket As Issued. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall.
