About This Item

First Edition, First Printing, with the correct date on title page and "April, 1902" stated on copyright page. Fine. Publisher's original deep red cloth, lettered and decorated in gilt. Top edge gilt. Tight and square binding. The slightest wear to the spine tail. Prior owner's signature on blank page. Internally very clean; covers very clean and bright; almost no wear to covers or boards; lacking the almost unobtainable dust jacket. A beautiful copy. One of the best we've seen of Twain's Sherlock Holmes type mystery!
