First Edition of this novel by the younger brother of novelist George Gissing. Having been unsuccessful in a legal career, Algernon tried his hand at writing -- and though he wrote and published some thirty novels, he never demonstrated the talent of brother George. Very good-plus condition (slightly rubbed, with a W.H. Smith label on the front pastedown). Not in the Wolff collection.
