FIRST edition with "announced May 1936 and published July 1936: on the copyright page. of Edmond's classic story made into the 1939 movie starring Henry Fonda and Claudette Colbert. This book is in VG/VG condition. and is ex-library withtthe usual markings in the rear. There is a previous owner signature on the ffep and again, some aging and darkening of the endpapers. The blue boards show some dirt and sunning on the spine but the black lettering and orange drums are clear and vivid. It is wrapped in a later state DJ however it is identical with the artwork of Henry Pitz. **BONUS--Receive the 1968 Little Brown FIRST edition of The Musket and the Cross in NF/NF condition. **Brenbooks specializes in first edition books made into films.
Synopsis
Walter D. Edmonds was a bestselling American author, a National Book Award winner, and recipient of the Newbery Medal. He published over 30 books in his lifetime, and was most popular for his historical novels. He died in 1998.
