About This Item
London: Sampson Low, Marston, Searle, & Riverton Limited, 1889. In original dark green cloth on board with gilt titles, expertly backed using original spine strip. Cover: Mild rubbing and light few only marks. Bevelled boards fore-edges. Gilt head edge still shiny albeit light rubbed and small couple of scratches. Old foxing to edges. Black eps with fep: bookplate of Lord Cheylesmore armorial crest. Half title page: inscribed Cheylesmore from H.Shute 1904 and penciled name & 1968 date. Complete with frontis and plates (some colour), illustrations. Just a couple of pages with really faint single or couple foxing to the very margin otherwise quite clean content. Binding is VG. 289p. First Edition. Hb. VG/None.
