First edition of the first German translation - and one of the earliest - of the Jungle Book. One of 5000 copies printed. The Groh illustrations were made especially for this edition.
Hardcover Fine. 8vo., original brown cloth, stamped in silver; front cover red and blue with an image of Mowgli. Edges stained red. Spine cocked slightly.. Edges lightly rubbed. Pages 161-165 mended with tape. Ownership stamp to title page. A beautiful and scarce book.
