(Richard) Barry O'Brien (1847-1918) was a lawyer, historian, and journalist; politically, he was aligned with Charles Stuart Parnell. This is a Very Good copy of the First Irish Edition (published simultaneously in England); uncommon thus. Blue cloth binding, ruled on yhe covers. Lettering on the spine and front cover is gilt. Top edge is gilt, others rough-cut. Clean text; 443 pages, indexed. Moderate amount of rubbing to the margind, corners are bumped, and the book is slightly splayed. An interesting treatise. Size: 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. First Edition.. Hard Cover. Very Good/No Jacket.
