Nahum Tate was a 17th-century Irish poet who wrote numerous historical dramas most of which were based on previous plays, including his most famous – an adaptation of Shakespeare's 'King Lear'. Another important work was his 'Duke and no Duke', a comedy based on Cockayne's "Trappolin". This edition of 'Duke and no Duke' was published in 1693 by Bonwicke and is considerably rare!
