London: Constable, 1930. An alderman, after accusing the mayor of wasting money, is stabbed to death with his own knife. The first Inspector Lott mystery. Red boards with black are bumped with a light beverage ring and drip marks to the front. Spine darkened with short tears at the ends, including a 1/2" tear at the head. Front hinge cracked but still pretty solid, foxing to the end papers and fore edge of the text block.. First Edition. Hard Cover. Good/No Jacket.
