London: Collins' Clear-Type Press, 1932. First edition. Cloth. Very Good Indeed/Good. 8" by 5.5". None. A selection of three novels by Elsie J Oxenham from her 'Abbey' series. Comprising of 'The Abbey Girls Win Through', 'The Abbey Girls at Home' and 'The Abbey Girls Play Up'. First thus, the first edition of these works together in one volume. Complete with the scarce, unclipped dustwrapper. Elsie Jeanette Dunkerley, known under her pen name 'Oxenham' was best known for her Abbey series of 38 titles. Oxenham is considered a major figure among girls' story writers at the start of the twentieth century. This work is undated, dated using Copac. In original cloth binding and held in scarce original dustwrapper. Externally, very smart with bumping to the head and tail of spine. Minor rubbing to the tail of spine resulting in a small loss. Small amount of bumping to the extremities. Crease to the spine of work. Dustwrapper is generally smart with chipping to the head and tail of spine, resulting in loss. Closed tear to the head of front joint. Spine is faded. Offsetting to endpapers. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are generally bright. A few light spots to foredge, affecting the occasional page. Very Good Indeed
