Faber, 1973. 264, 8 col + 46 b/w plates. . HB. Good in d/w (several short edge tears, repaired). Small bookplate removed with minor surface damage to front pastedown. From the library of Keith Hyatt (d. 2021), acarologist at the Natural History Museum, London, and prominent member of the London Natural History Society, and with inscription from him to his father A.R. Hyatt (also with his small ownership stamp/label to endpaper). A.R. Hyatt and his brother were among the 'Bowles Boys', a group of local boys who were invited by Bowles to help and play in the garden at Myddelton House.Also enclosed are several relevant press cuttings; a folding leaflet, 'E.A. Bowles & Myddelton House' (1985) by Frances Perry, with A.R. Hyatt's initials; a printed Order of Service for E.A. Bowles' funeral at Jesus Church, Forty Hill, Enfield, May 11th, 1954 and a manuscript note of corrections to the text of the book.. First edition.. [9780571103065]
