Edinburgh: David Douglas, 1882. First Edition. Cloth. Very Good/No Jacket. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. Both volumes bound in deep blue cloth with gilt decorations to front boards and lettering to spines; stamped borders to boards and stamped lines to spines. Genealogical chart to volume I. Some light shelfwear to head and heel of spines; upper outside corner of front board of vol II bumped. Spines somewhat darkened. Usual age darkening to pages of both, with foxing to outer page edges; head of pages soiled. Pastedowns somewhat rippled with some foxing to pastedowns and to endpages.
