Book. Near Fine. Hardcover. 8vo - over 7¾ - 9¾" tall. Seven off-prints from various scholarly journals, in several different languages, all pertaining to early Arabic poetry. Publishing dates range from 1928 to 1975. Printed on rectos only and professionally bound in brown buckram hardcovers. No marking or lettering to buckram covers. Handwritten table of contents insdie front cover. Articles are as follows: K.S, Kashtaleva, "The term hanif in the Koran", [from Proceedings of the Academy of Sciences of the 1st USSR, pp.157-162, 1928. TEXT IN RUSSIAN]; two other articles in Russian, one by Kraukovskii and another by D. N. Petrov; Von E. Braunlich, "Versuch einer literargeschiehtlichen Betrachtungsweise altarabischer Poesien" pp. 201-269; Francesco Gabrieli, "La Poesie Religieuse de L'Ancien Islam" pp. 7-50; Von Wolfhart Heinrichs, "Die altarabishe Qaside als Dichtkunst Bemerkungen und Gedanken zu einem neuen Buch" pp.118-124; and Kanal Abu-Deeb, "Towars a Structura Analysis of Pre-Islamic Poetry", pp. 148-184. The last being the only article in English, the other in Russian, German and French. No writing or highlighting to articles, albeit the last listed shows several pen marks on margins. A clean, sound, tight copy in strong utilitarian binding. Near fine. .
