This is a large lot of 14 early edition books by BEATRIX POTTER. Circa mid 1930's to early 1940's (based on copyright renewal dates); Frederick Warne & Co.; New York. All books contain color illustrations by Potter. Most books are in Very Good condition - I've graded each book (below), and have provided a detailed condition report for notable issues found. Condition:
CECILY PARSLEY - 1" tear at bottom edge of half title page. PIE PATTY PAN - 2 small, light stains on back cover. MRS TITTLEMOUSE - small, light stain on back cover. JOHNNY TOWN-MOUSE - light staining at bottom edge of front cover; light blue colored pencil lines over the front end paper and pastedown; the outer corner tips of the front end paper have torn away; a few pages at the back have a thin, light stain along the inner edge. APPLEY DAPPLY - occasional foxing to the pages. PIGLING BLAND - blank page 13 has a tear that has been repaired with tape, which has browned. TOM KITTEN - light wear at the bottom of the spine; the cloth on the back cover has faded at the bottom-left quadrant. GINGER & PICKLES - pencil squiggles on rear end paper & pastedown, and over many of the page numbers at the bottom of the pages; crack at rear hinge with webbing exposed. MR TOD - red pencil scribbles on front cover & end papers; 3 pages & 1 plate at the front are detached; occasion stains & crayon.
