About This Item
London U.K.: Trubner and Co.. Very Good with no dust jacket. 1879. First Edition. Hardcover. Oversize; A clean and sound copy of the first edition, bound in dark green cloth with gold lettering. The lettering has faded a little, but is still quite legible. The binding has only minor edgewear and soiling, and the hinges, remarkably, are still sound, surprising in such a weighty volume (almost 3 pounds, almost 400 pages). There are a few light spots on the back board. The pages of the text are lightly but attractively age-toned. Altogether, a class act. The only marking in the book is a very attractive bookplate on the front endpaper. Surcharge on international shipping due to size. .
