It's characters are people caught in the pressures of a world they helped to build, a world they desperately try to escape. They have run, they are still running; some to an illusion of sanctuary; one or two in a search for self-knowledge. All are trying to forget or to justify what has gone before: the beliefs betrayed, the lies revealed, the greed and the self-love. They are together in Choluca, a small Mexican town currently fashionable with expatriates. Many have gathered in Choluca at the moment the earthquake hits. A few survive - for their second chance - reborn out of violence and compassion. 245 pages. The black cloth binding has a small spot on the front. The jacket has a 1" tear at the top front, and a narrow vertical line about 2" long is chipped on the front. The spine ends are bent and chipped as are the corners. On the back is a small area where the gloss of the jacket is torn. The pages tops are stained lilac. 12mo - over 6¾" - 7¾" tall. .
