This was the author's debut work, and comprises a piece of travel writing on the subject of Italy.Maurice Hewlett (1861-1923) was an English essayist, novelist and poet. He was an extremely prolific writer of his time, publishing a number of historical novels, plays, autobiographical works, essays and poetry collections.Illustrated with a full plate frontispiece. In the publisher's original full cloth binding. Externally very smart, a little faded to the spine. Internally generally firmly bound, pages are uncut and a touch age-toned but otherwise bright and clean. Very Good Indeed

Based in the literary city of Bath, our offices are housed in the Eastern Dispensary. Built in 1845, the building originally existed as a charitable institution providing medical care. The building now houses our collection of over twenty thousand books and has five full time members of staff.
