New York: Fords, Howard, & Hulbert, 1881. Small octavo (17.5 x 13 cm.), 283 pages. FIRST EDITION. This volume seeks to "teach household science as well as cooking," and is based on the author's experience teaching in a large school in Raleigh, North Carolina, the Deaf and Dumb Institute, and "regular classes for ladies." In brown cloth, decorated with black and gilt stamped borders and titling. Lacking free front end paper; hinges started. Generally good or a bit better.
