London, Faber and Faber, 1956 1st edition. Hardback, approx 8 x 6 inches. Bound in maroon polished full calf leather fine binding by “Bayntun, Bath.” Raised banding and gilt paneling to spine, with gilt lettering to leather spine labels. Inner gilt dentelles with marbled endpapers, full gilt page edging. In very good condition. Spine is faded with some minor rubbing to edges and corners. Some minor handling marks to boards. Bookplate to endpaper “G. Scott Atkinson, Snelson.” Inside pages all very clean and tight throughout. Authors signature to title page. Else an excellent copy. Maps to endpapers. 200pp. Illustrated with 11 B&W photographs on plates and 23 B&W sketch drawings in text.
