Unmarked hardcover in unclipped jacket and the cloth boards look as the listing image with the decorative gilt design on 3/4 red paper and 1/4 black cloth spine with gilt title. Top page edges are tinted red. Stated First Edition. 193 pages. Dust jacket has wear at all corners. Appears to have marks from soiled fingertips along front and rear DJ flaps and both flyleaves but text pages are clean.

Synopsis

Eaters of the Dead: The Manuscript of Ibn Fadlan Relating His Experiences with the Northmen in A.D. 922 (later republished as The 13th Warrior to correspond with the film adaption of the novel) is a 1976 novel by Michael Crichton. The story is about a 10th-century Muslim who travels with a group of Vikings to their settlement. Crichton explains in an appendix that the book was based on two sources.
