Title and text on front from original French, book text is in English. 125 pages. Originally published in French in 1733. De La Gueriniere is considered the father of French Equitation and Modern Dressage. Author's book Ecole de Cavalerie was published first in 1731 and again under different titles in 1733 and 1802. It consistes of three parts - Knowledge of the Horse In and Out of the Stable, Training, and Treatment of Illness. This volume only comprises the pertinent Chapters I-XVIII of the second part regarding training.. Illus. by sketches. 8vo - over 7¾ - 9¾" tall. Soft cover. Near Fine/No Jacket.
