Mass-market paperback, average wear and age-toning to wraps, page margins age-toned, binding cracked at p. 184-85 and reglued - all pages attached, crease to p. 185. Name of former owner Prof. Ann Berthoff written on ffep, her underscoring and marginalia throughout first three chapters, but few thereafter; outline for imaginary colloquies, e.g. Jacobs - Suzanne K. Langer - Freya Stark - Jane Addams handwritten on rear end papers.

Synopsis

Jane Jacobs was the legendary author of The Death and Life of Great American Cities , a work that has never gone out of print and that has transformed the disciplines of urban planning and city architecture. Her other major works include The Economy of Cities , Systems of Survival , The Nature of Economies and Dark Age Ahead . She died in 2006.
