First edition thus, comprising the second edition of Levine's first book augmented by the inclusion of seven "lost poems", five new poems and a preface by the author written especially for this edition. Originally published in 1963 by The Stonewall Press as On The Edge. Presentation copy, inscribed by Levine on the half-title page to the poet Jane Cooper, who was his fellow student in John Berryman's class at the University of Iowa: "March 17, 76. For my dear Jane, May your power gather + your pen flow with new wonders. Your ancient brother, Phil". Also signed by Levine on the title page. Fine copy. 8vo, wrappers. Fine copy.
