Garden City, N.Y.: Doubleday, Doran & Co., 1930. Early printing, not first.. Hardback. Very Good condition.. Tan cloth with black decoration and lettering. Very light fading on spine. Decoration is crisp and bright. Light shelfwear. Top edge red. Fore-edge untrimmed. Previous owner inscription on first free endpaper dated Nov. 1930. Hinges sound. Very nice copy, printed on thick, cream-colored paper, aesthetically very pleasant. Vita Sackville-West (1892-1962) is sometimes best remembered for her relationship with Virginia Woolf, though she had a long, productive literary career of her own. This is one of her several best-selling novels of the English upper classes.
