The composer's opus 4 was published in 1817, suggesting an approximate date of 1815 for this, his first published work. In 1804 Bühler became a choir director in Augsburg, where he remained for the rest of his life. The Augsburg music printers, Johann Jakob Lotter und Sohn, printed those works of his that were issued during his lifetime, so it is likely that they also printed this work. Contents: Kyrie -- Gloria -- Credo -- Et in carnatus -- Sanctus -- Benedictus -- Agnus Dei -- Dona. At head of both pages is printed "Organo"; written in pencil above that: "Violone." The handwritten label on the volume that included this piece listed this as "Missa I in D." In Very Good- Condition: soiled; one horizontal crease; lower edge slightly chipped.

Final 3 pages, including back wrapper, lists contents of nos. 1-22 of Beadle's Half-Dime Singer's Library, and titles of nos. 1-66 of Beadle's Half-Dime Library and nos. 1-55 of Beadle's Dime Library. Beadle's Half-Dime Singer's Library appeared approximately weekly from 18 May 1878 and 29 March 1879, ending with No. 43. In later reprints the illustration was left uncolored. Scarce. In Very Good- Condition: first leaf detached, but present; small stain on first leaf; corner at head of gutter trimmed without loss of text; clean and bright.

This book is in good condition. There is wear on the front, back and spine of the cover boards and the edges are worn as well. The corners are bumped as well. The previous owners names are affixed and written on the inside of the front and back cover boards.There is staining on the front, back and spine of the cover boards. Signed - author and subject. First Edition. Near Fine / near fine. Isaac Stern "the man who saved Carnagie Hall", world famous violinist writes his auto-biography with acclaimed author Chaim Potok. The book has a stain on the outside page edge. It just barely intrudes into the page. The dust jacket has very minor wrinkles at the head and tail of the spine. Otherwise the book is excellent and unread. The book was purchased from the estate of Francis Blatt, violinist for the Dallas Symphony Orchestra for 25 years. Isaac Stern and Chaim Potok have signed on the title page (no inscription).
