A historical novel adapted to a Hollywood film in 1954. It is the first and most successful novel of Waltari's historical novels. It chronicles the life of fictional character Sinuhe, the royal physician, ...charts his travels in then -Egyptian dominated Syria, Mitanni, Babylon, Minoan Crete, and among the Hittites. The original story dates to a time long before that of Akhenaten; texts are known from as early as the 12th century. Book description: Beige publishers cloth hardbound, blue/rust stamped title/design on spine cover, map illustrated end papers. Dimensions: 8 5/8" x 5 3/4" x 1 3/8". Book description: Very good +; gently bumped spine crown/heel, soft vertical crease effects spine cloth, numeric marking in upper right hand inside corner of front board, personal ex-libris label on front free end paper opposite title page, cloth in fine state, strong square spine, clean bright age toned pages.
