First published in German in 1992, this is a study of the German astronomer Erwin Finlay Freundlich's attempt to verify Einstein's general theory of relativity and the observatory designed for him in Potsdam by his friend, the architect Erich Mendelsohn; although Feundlich's research was not a success, Mendelsohn's tower was renowned as an experiment in modern architecture; includes photographs and other illustrations (black cloth with silver lettering; dust jacket has photo of the tower on the front; a bright, clean, tight copy in nearly perfect condition)
