First edition; presumed first printing. ix followed by 529 pges. The book is in excellent condition despite it being ex-library. Only evidence of its library status is the following: evidence of a book plate removed from inside covers, a barely discernable iimpression on the title page (about 2.5 x 1 ") and a catalogue number printed at the bottom of the spine. Cover and pages have no other blemishes, marks, tears or foxing. Binding is tight; text is clear.
