This is a beautifully illustrated antique copy of "Elegy Written in a Country Church-Yard" by Thomas Gray. 1845; John W. Moore; Philadelphia. This edition features 33 illustrations engraved on wood by E.S. Gilbert. Gilt illustration and lettering on the front cover. Gilt page edges on all sides of the text block.
Condition:
The cloth has partially faded on the spine and along the edges of the covers. Cloth tears at the cover corners. The top and bottom edges of the spine are worn. Tight binding with no cracks and no loose pages. Occasional foxing to the pages (mostly light, though heavier on the end papers, and to a few text pages). Nicely written inscription dated 1845 on the front end paper. Previous owner's ex-libris label affixed to the front pastedown. Overall the book is in Good condition.
