c.1910. Signed lower right. W H Caffyn was an artist and illustrator whose work included the First World War poster 'Come along, boys! Enlist to-day'. This illustration was done for the publishers J M Dent. Emile Vandervelde (1866 - 1938) Belgian statesman, born at Ixelles. He studied law at the Free University of Brussels and became doctor of laws in 1885 and doctor of social science in 1888. Drawing, pencil and crayon 270 x 210 mm Fine condition
