Book Condition: Very Good; light shelfwear to bottom edges; two small indentations to top of boards; small area of sunbleaching to head. DJ: Very Good in lamination; NOT Price Clipped ($9.95); light rubbing and some wrinkles to applied laminate cover. Green cloth boards and spine with bright gilt lettering on the spine. Maps as endpapers; tinted textblock top. 389 pp 8vo. The purchase of the Louisiana Territory in 1803 from France led to the unfurling of the continent. The purchase came from Napoleon's hatred of the British and Jefferson's desire to have access to the Mississippi River. Sight unseen, Jefferson made the deal that doubled the size of the US and gave it the potential for greatness. A clean very presentable copy.
