This is the story of Tristan and Isolde, from Malory's Morte d'Arthur, told in modern romantic prose in novel form. When Tristan sailed into Ireland, he was near death from the wound which had won him knighthood. His sword, too, bore a wound, for a piece of it still remained in the head of a great champion who lay dead at Tristan's hands. In Ireland his destiny awaited him.
