About This Item
In the 15th century BC, a volcanic eruption occurred on the island of Thera (Santorini). Did this mark the destruction of Atlantis, the story of which Plato gave to the world 11 centuries later? Was there ever such an island as he describes? The author, with the help of archaeologists, seismologists and oceanographers, aims to arrive at the real truth.
Very good condition. Pages are well read but clean and bright with only minor brown spotting at some external edges. There is a small library stamp on one of the initial pages (see photos) and a slight rubbing on FEP. Cloth boards are tight and clean, with just the slightest of give. DJ is unclipped and unmarked. Original small price sticker (Thames & Hudson £3.75) on front flap. Very minor wear at extremities of DJ but generally very nice. See photos, all of which are of the actual copy for sale. All now protected in professional clear book wrapper. 224pp with many colour and B&W illustrations, notes, bibliography, index. Book is heavy - if additional postage is required this will be agreed with the buyer upfront
