About This Item
New York: Doubleday & Company Inc. 1967 (1967) Review Slip laid in. Of many, these questions are asked: "Does the establishment of a Jewish state in Israel demonstrate the eternity of the Jewish people and their mission, which is the cornerstone of the Jewish faith?" " To what extent do young Sabras born in Israel identify themselves as Jews; and to what extent can Jews in other countries identify with the Isralis?" This book was the result of two visits to Israel in 1963 and 1964 by the author. It is a reflection on the Israeli experience and also on the past, present, and future of the Jews. The author says," It is an attempt at an objective survey, and also by the very nature of the subject, an act of personal testimony, the statement of a personal attitude toward Judaism." An important part of his study is an analysis of the ambivalent relationship between Judaism and anti-Semitism. Bergundy cloth boards. Gilt to spine.. Hard Cover. Near Fine/Fair.
