About This Item
London: Hamish Hamilton, 1964. First Edition. Hard Cover. Dust Jacket. First UK EDITION. AN IMPORTANT ASSOCIATION COPY FORMERLY OWNED BY THE NEW YORK PRODUCER OF THE PLAY IN 1965. Dark green cloth boards with silver titles to the spine. William Morris Agency Bookplate affixed to the FFEP, with agent/producer Tanya Chasman's address stamped above the agency 's logo. A near fine copy in a VG D/W which is chipped at the corners and has small spots of damp-staining at the top edge of the rear panel and the rear flap. The D/W is NOT price-clipped and is quite presentable in its new mylar. "Entertaining Mr Sloane" premiered at the New Arts Theatre in London in 1964 to glowing reviews. A year later it opened in New York at the Lyceum Theatre with Tanya Chasman as its Producer, where it ran for a mere two weeks. It has since enjoyed a series of more successful outings, including a Roundabout Production starring Alec Baldwin as well as a UK feature film.
