The text is illustrated with a few black-and-white photographs. Orange coloured cloth covered boards with black coloured titles to the backstrip. A history of purple journalism, also known as muckraking, beginning in the late 1890s and blossoming in the early part of the 20th century in America. First published in 1932. Softening and rubbing of the backstrip edges, with bumping of the book corners and rubbing also present. Fading of the backstrip with age toning of the text block edges and pages. Faint offsets pertaining to the end pages with previous owners name to the top right hand corner of the free front end page and to page 33. Size: 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall.
