About This Item
Eragon The Inheritance Cycle Book One by Christopher Paolini First Trade Hardcover Edition - First Printing New York: Knopf US, August, 2003. (number-line on copyright page going down to "1") $18.99 cover price on the jacket back. Very Fine in Fine Dust jacket, as NEW and UNREAD. An absolutely stunning near-perfect beautiful copy with only a tiny hint of shelf-wear to the bottom edge of the front board.
NOTE on Edition: The true first edition of Eragon was self-published by Paolini's family in a trade paperback in 2002 with Paolini International designated as the publisher in probably only a few thousand copies. Knopf then picked up the rights and issued this first trade printing hardcover with complete number to "1" but without its typical "first edition" indication.
NOTE on pictures: The pictures are NOT stock photos. The pictures are of the actual item for sale.
NOTE: All modern books with dust jackets come with dust jacket covers.
Shipping: $6.50 media mail, $9.50 priority mail padded envelope, $16.50 priority mail medium box. $42.50 padded mailer international.
IMPORTANT NOTE: All sales are generally FINAL. I do NOT accept returns because of buyer's remorse, "it was a gift but the recipient already had it", or "I found the same book at a better price". I am not selling new items to compete with other retailers. Returns are only accepted because of discrepancies regarding edition and/or condition of which I am typically very thorough in researching the edition/printing as well as describing ALL condition issues. So make sure you're 100% positive you desire one of my items before making a purchase.
Synopsis
Eragon is the first book in the Inheritance Cycle by Christopher Paolini. Paolini began writing the book at the age of fifteen. After writing the first draft for a year, he spent a second year rewriting it and fleshing out the story and characters. Paolini's parents saw the final manuscript and decided to self-publish Eragon. Paolini spent a year traveling around the United States promoting the novel. By chance, the book was discovered by Carl Hiaasen, who got it re-published by Alfred A.
