This main volume gives full bibliographic descriptions of his books and pamphlets; contributions to books; contributions to newspapers and periodicals; translations of his works; anthologies; special collections (arranged by libraries) of Hemingway materials; published letters; and miscellaneous works. First editions (both American and British) of books and pamphlets are given full bibliographical descriptions, with title-page transcriptions, collations, contents, physical descriptions, and publishing histories. Other materials are presented in alphabetical or chronological lists. Also included are brief descriptively annotated entries for about 2,000 critical studies and other items written about Hemingway from 1918 to 1965 including biographies, essays and criticisms, dissertations, news items and interviews, poems and parodies.
