Dutton Studio Books, New York, 1992. Book. Fine. Hardcover. 1st Edition. First Edition (first printing). Large 4to. 207pp. Slate-grey cloth lettered in silver at the spine and with a blind-stamped facsimile signature to the upper board. Lavishly illustrated with 176 colour reproductions reproducing every print (71) and sculpture (105) created by Erté in the last few years of his life, nearly all hitherto unprinted. Felt-pen remainder mark to the bottom edge else in fine state with non-price-clipped dust wrapper, very lightly chafed and lifting at several extremities. Romain de Tirtoff, who worked under the pseudonym Erté (the French pronunciation of his initials), was a celebrated artist and designer who produced 250 covers for "Harper's Bazaar" as well as fashion designs for some of the world's most glamorous stars, and costume & set designs for Hollywood and stage productions..
