Within the text there are another 16 black and white photographs and 1 double page map and 1 single page map. Red coloured boards with gilt writing on the spine. Corners of the book are slightly rubbed and there is fading to the spine and the head and the heel of the spine is bumped and rubbed. Browning to the paper edge is a long with faint foxing as well. Slight foxing to the extreme edges of the endpapers, there is also a faint brown stain running the full-length of both the front and back endpapers to a width of 2". The internal pages are somewhat brown and the extreme edges. A personal account of the escape of the author and Admiral Sir Chan Chak from Hong Kong when the Japanese invaded Hong Kong, and the eventual escape route to China.
