Black cloth boards with faded gilt lettering on spine. Edges relatively square. Spine roll. Head and tail of spine rubbed from shelfwear. Discoloration spots on top-edge of textblock. Foxing present to edges of textblock. Foxing and age-tanning at endpapers. Bookplate sticker from previous owner on flyleaf. Hinge is cracked at several places throughout the textblock and cracked at rear pastedown, but no pages are loose. Otherwise binding is tight. Pages are clean and unmarked. Some light tobacco/”old book” smell present when opened. This book club edition combines the two real life stories of escapes during WW2 into one volume. History
