London: Printed For Edward. And Charles Dilly, 1777. Hardcover. Very Good. The fourth edition, 14 cm x 22 cm, iv - 316 pp armorial bookplate of Henry Drummond to front paste down. Some occasional browning to contents no inscriptions.Neatly re cased in the original full tan calf retaining the original end papers. Head and tail of spine chipped but re backed. The binding tight with no splits.The fourth edition is the first to have the three dialogues of the dead.And is quite sarce Mrs. Montagu was a member of a group known as Bluestocking Philosophers and was well placed in literary circles of the day.The three satirical dialogues are set in the Underworld between mythological figures and contemporary type characters.
