[xvi] 495pp [xxvii], [vi] 676pp [xxvi], [iv] 464pp [xxxii].. Portrait frontispiece in volume 1. "The fourth edition with the addition of a compleat table to each volume and a full defence of the author". Bound in blind stamped contemporary calf with newer spines and labels. 5 raised bands to spine. Armorial bookplate of John Rose Burlin in each volume; his initials on opposing page. These cover up an earlier owner's armorial bookplate which you can somewhat see under it. The covered up bookplate looks to be for Lord Cadogan; Charles Cadogan, 2nd Baron of Cadogan (1685-1776). ESTC T111809.
