Original half calf spine & corners with moderately rubbed marbled cover, gold gilt lettering on maroon and raised gold gilt bands to spine, light wear to head & foot of spine/ board edges, very small worn hole to bottom spine, thin split to inside board spine seam but holding strong, faded name in old style writing to fep, illustrated with nineteen engravings and a fldg map intact (some moderate foxing to margins of these), binding very good. 495 p.. First. Hb. VG/None.
