London: Macmillan Company, 1876. New Edition. Hardcover. G-, Covers have ear, rubbing, corners bumped. Back cover has staining. Spine has wear but still attractive. Spine is almost completely detached from text block, but can be repaired. Black end papers, no inscriptions or ownership plates. Pages lightly age-toned with some foxing but overall smooth. Plates are in good condition.. Burgundy cloth with gilt decorations, front and spine on a black background. 459 pages 12 plates. Each plate accompanied by leaf with descriptive letterpress in red. Designs from spine and side of original binding mounted on leaves at end of volume. Nice reference or reader's copy, especially if bind repaired.
